I recently got a set of PAR Engineering transmission gears and thought I'd show some comparisons between stock gears and bad-ass, dog engagement gears. You may already know of PPG Gears, but they are not the only manufacturer that makes aftermarket gears for our FS5R30A transmission and these PAR Engineering gears are about half the price of PPG. The gear ratios are: 1st 3.10 (stock is 3.21) 2nd 1.93 same as stock 3rd 1.31 same as stock 4th 1.00 same as stock 5th 0.73 (stock is 0.75) I'll be installing these this spring for testing in my car and then looking at becoming a dealer with PAR by the end of the year. I intend to offer complete transmissions with the gears installed and ready to go. PAR also offers full helical and/or synchronized options for those that may be worried about NVH from straight-cut gears and the dog engagement shift mechanism. Here's a shot of all the components. Straight-cut gears for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with a helical 4th. This set retains the stock 5th gear and its synchronizer for reduced NVH on the highway (who uses 5th when racing?). Gear teeth are straight-cut and much larger than stock gear teeth.
