I’ve been reading the thread on wheel fitment for TTs here. It’s a fantastic knowledgebase. [ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=935775 ]Getting ready to purchase Enkei RPF1s and Hankook RS-3s for a 91TT with an Eibach .75 inch drop and stock brakes. The measurements that are available are: Front: 18x8.5, Offset: 30mm, Backspacing: 5.86" (245/40/18 Tire) Couple choices for rear… Rear: 18x9.5, Offset: 38mm Backspacing: 6.73" (275/35/18/Tire) Rear: 18x9.5, Offset: 45mm Backspacing: 7.01" (275/35/18/Tire) Rear: 18x10, Offset: 38mm Backspacing: 7.00" (285/35/18/Tire) My goal is to make these wheels as flush as they can be without having clearance issues. (isn’t everyone’s?) With this in mind, should I stay away from 18x10s? If I go with 18x9.5s, the 38mm offset would give me correct wheel flushness, right? I’m thinking 45mm would stick out too much. Thanks for the help. It’s always nice to have anyones opinion before dropping 2k on wheels and tires.
