cutting a non-round hole, like contouring the short side radius without mirror imaging the same shape on the backside of the valve bowl (this would require some intense programming with rapid X Y changes timed to the rotation and Z axis of the cutting head), I don't see a hands down benefit over a profiled cutter. One advantage it might have is the ability to undercut the valve seat... the reason for doing this though, I don't know - they might be capable of doing this, but I've never seen a benefit from this sort of shape in a port. The only other advantages I see from these machines is the ability to setup a head and walk away from it (labor savings), and less tooling (no custom cutters).
