I remember someone posting about this a little while back. I am pretty perturbed about this, I know these coilovers are steel, and prone to some rusting. However I have had these on my car no more than 1000miles (if that) and installed them about 10 months ago. I never drove in the rain, and the car didn't really see any poor conditions. Spent some time in the driveway, that's it. I live in PA, but never drove on a salted road ever with it. I cleaned them quite often too. I feel that the following corrosion/ damage is a little extreme: Painted springs have all rusted, black oxide sleeves have rusted to where it will be hard to adjust them easily, and the bottom mounts have rusted extensively. The rubber boots have cracked in some spots, how I have NO idea. I purchased these on a group buy, and have been really happy with them. However feel this is just unacceptable, to the point that I have been dealing with it up until tonight. I wanted to post these pictures to get some opinions. For $1100 I think there should be a LITTLE more attention to rust prevention during manufacturing etc. Are these really just junk? Who else has this issue, or is this abnormal? I thought about calling SPL to make a complaint, I know they have good service and really try to provide quality parts for our cars. I have nothing against them, but I do feel this is a little extreme. I would like any input on possibly refinishing these to prevent further corrosion (I take care of my things meticulously).
