Message I used it on the FMIC, and that only. It was explained to me by Swain that the coating basically just causes the temps of an object to equalize faster with the air around it faster. This is great on FMICs, transmissions, or diffs, or maybe even the front of a radiator, and anything not inside of our very hot engine bay. It will pull the hotter temps out of the FMIC (or other objects) into the colder air, or another way to say it is pull the coolness of the air into the FMIC.

If you have an object inside of out hot engine bay though, you may just be causing that object to actually heat up to higher temps since the engine bay is actually hotter. The temps of the object aren't just going to magically get colder if the surrounding environment (hot engine bay) is actually hotter than or close to the temps of the object. Where would the heat go? The heat would leave a hot object, and go into the hotter air? I think not. This is why I would recommend not putting this coating on the plenum or IC piping. This is also the advice given to me by the Swain rep I discussed all of this with back when I was figuring out what coatings to do to ALL of my engine parts.

As far as manifolds, turbo exhaust housings etc...I went with Swain's White lightning coating. Looks really nice, and for me after doing the research I happily chose this coating from Swain over all others.

To answer your first question, no I have not used Calico/Techline.

Thanks,
Mike
