that the screw-type are prone to bending. The plates that the screw actually holds have *tiny tabs that hold them in. It really is a bad design. Over-tightening and age can cause the "tabs" to give in to the stress the screw plates put on them. Also, don't forget guys, using carburetor cleaner or MEK on the ends of the hose to lube/soften the rubber helps create a tight seal to the lines!
