Not allow too much "cooled oil" to reach parts of the engine, causing a shock effect that can cause problems. The restrictors allows a small amount of "cooled" oil to be introduced at a time. I know "cooler is better".. but not when its being introduced to very hot oil. I may be wrong though.. but I believe that is what I have learned before.
NO, This picture is not photoshopped. It took many times to take this picture. Setting up the timer, shutter speed etc, then jumping on my bike and getting the tire to spin.
