I just want to give a big shout out to Rich of RDZ. Rich has a ton of Experience, Passion, and Commitment for the Z and owners alike. My car has suffered an inconsistent off-idle stumble issue since I got the car two years ago. The problem has been complicated because my NA won’t connect to ConZult (this is not uncommon). Since then I’ve replaced all the injectors, plugs, ECU, PCVs, timing belt and a half dozen other things on the way to find the root cause. I took the car to Rich for a diagnosis because I’ve exhausted all the obvious possibilities. For all you Noobs, this engine is very sensitive and delicately balanced between the left and right hand side. A single injector, plug, or coilpack being “off” will cause the whole engine to run sub-optimum both at idle and at power because the control will compensate and try to “learn out” the ailing component. This makes troubleshooting all the more complicated. In my case the passenger side O2 sensor test was completely faked out by a faulty injector. Flash forward. Rich recognized that my driver’s side O2 sensor was dead which I wouldn’t have recognized myself because the last time I checked the O2 sensors they were both working fine! Now the engine idle is dead on and high end performance is where it should be with my mods. WARNING, these are things that Rich won’t do:
Rich will not do a half-ass job. Period.
Rich will not recommend expensive or otherwise useless mods before necessary maintenance.
Rich will not sacrifice his integrity.
Rich will not compromise your car. If you’d rather pimp out your ride and rice it up, Rich, is NOT the guy for you. Your local Jimmy shop or even Nissan dealer is much better suited to rip you off. If, however, you’re a discerning Z owner and want your car fixed right, Rich is there to help. He’s got solid communications skills, decent connections throughout our Z community, a no non-sense work ethic and follow through, and his prices are competitive and reasonable for his Z experience. Are you tired of being caught between finishing up your prize worthy garage queen and the rat race, kids activities, needy wife/g-friend, with the long days of summer calling?
