I am glad that VG's do not suffer from crank walk as some other motors have.

I am assuming the southbend clutches can get away with using a lighter clamping load than usual due to the friction materials used (feramic etc).

Its always good practice to go with the lightest (pedal effort) as possible.. because that extra strain/pressure is being applied against something. I assume that it must stilll not be enough pressure to where it would be an issue.

I mentioned the ACT 2600 because I remember owning that clutch and was shocked on how difficult the pedal effort was compared to stock. My RPS sport, and MAX were much lighter than the ACT 2600 setup.

The bearing load and pedal effort would pretty much go hand in hand. I didn't mean that it takes 2600lbs of force to release the clutch or (2600lbs of pedal effort). What I meant is that if the clutch is designed to "clamp" 2600lbs.. Then there stress used to "release" this heavy load must be greater, which in turn would cause more pressure against other parts (ie. thrust bearing).

Crank walk can occur in any motor (depending on the design of thrust bearing). And having more pressure against the crank will greatly cause more stress on that part. If the VG's motor's thrust bearing is designed well if enough that our options (majority of options) of clutches, Southbend, RPS, etc don't exceed the threshold of the thrust bearing, then thats great. I just hope it does not start to be an issue since more and more Z's are requiring so much "clutch" and most are content with buying a ~$600 clutch because it will hold the power securely.

I'm glad to see that the southbend clutches are doing well. I have heard good things about the x-series. Are you planning on (if not already there) offering a multi-disc clutch upgrade?

NO, This picture is not photoshopped. It took many times to take this picture. Setting up the timer, shutter speed etc, then jumping on my bike and getting the tire to spin.
