Message load has nothing to do with how much pressure is applied to the crank.
Manufactures differ but the pressure put on the crank is directly related to the "bearing load" of the pressure plate (what pressure it takes to release the clutch at the release bearing) not how much clamp load it applies to the disk.

South Bend modifies their pressure plates correctly and although this takes more time and cost to do, it greatly reduces bearing load in the pressure plates and keeps the load off the crank.

The DXD "X" series kits have a lighter bearing load than the normal, standard upgraded twin turbo kits.
At the same clamping force the "X" series have about a 15-20% lighter bearing load, Release better and put less stress on the crank bearings, This is also why they have a lighter feel at the pedal.

With a higher clamp load pressure plate VS stock there is only about another 150-200lbs of bearing load, Not a huge difference.

The VG does not really suffer from crank walk and a well made single disk works great in them.
