aggressive your track compound. I routinely switched between Hawk HPS and DTC-70 pads for track weekends. When I prepped the car for a track event and swapped in the race pads, I would take it out the night before and bed-in the pads. If weather or time did not permit that, I did it during the practice session in the morning, and made sure I was near the back of my run group. Because I drove home from the track on my race pads, they operated in their abrasive heat range and essentially scraped the rotors clean of the race compound transfer layer. When I got the car in the garage and converted it back to a daily driver, I would wipe down my calipers, inspect the seals, swap in the street pads, and drive. I found that I drove aggressively enough on on/off ramps that the pads transferred a good layer onto the rotors without an official bed-in procedure. For most, it would probably be recommended to bed-in the street pads again to assure a good transfer layer.
