I good/long time friend of mine manages the mechanical side of a shop locally. They do body work and collision repair and have done some really good work for me (mostly automobiles owned by other people that my children have run into, no I'm not kidding). Anyway, this is the first time that they have done anything that I got to keep. They painted and installed the wing including the rust repair under the rotted stocker, inlaid black paint so I don't have a vinyl sticker, painted the mirrors, the t-tops including the new end caps I had purchased, the rockers under the pinstripe, replaced the pinstripe, and painted the rear bumper. I would prefer not to throw a number out there, but it was about a third of what I expected to pay!
Years ago, I asked an old guy that was a Porsche guru if you could put a 914 motor in a bug. I have applied his response to many situations since then......"Son, you could put a winshield wiper on a billy goats ass, but I don't know why you would want to".
