I took a cue from the other Mike Smith--from his "before-MSP-manifold" days --- and sawed the manifolds at the restricted parts and opened them up and welded them back together. I don't recommend doing that. We did nothing to treat the metal during or after welding. Those manifolds "will" crack at some point in time.
