Message Ok well maybe not kill, but definate diference. I got the DDM 35wt hids for my low beams. I had hooked them up and turned on a couple times while car was getting put back together and they worked fine. I had not tried them yet while driving due to the fact the couple of times I have taken Draco out this week it was daylight. So today I had the day off and went out for a long cruise to make sure all systems were working and everything was tight. So after close to 125 miles of driving around the city it starts getting dark and I decide to turn on the new lights. As soon as I turned them on the car immediatly started to act like it wasnt getting gas and wanted to die. I pulled over and checked under the hood. Nothing was out of place. I turned the car back on and it was like nothing had happenned. Got back home and later decided to go back out for a cruise. Car started fine and turned lights on and everything was good. Drove about an hour and then stopped for a bite to eat. Got back in car and started fine. Then turned lights on and it wanted to die again. It took 4 tries to get it started and had to feather the gas to keep it going. I turned the key off twice and still got the same response from motor even without turning on the lights. Finally on the third on/off it started and was its old self. Turned lights on and it was all good. Drove about 15 miles back home and no issues.
So thats the story....I havent seen anyone else with such an issue. It is obviously related to the new HIDs. I feel like when they first come on its a shock to the electrical system. I have a brand new Optima battery and my alternator was also rebuilt during this round of mods to the car. I see no real drain from the volt meter. I have been trying to get my idle issues straight. I dont think that has anything to do with it though.
I'd love to hear any thoughts on this matter. Thanks in advance!!:
