Can you mix synthetic and conventional motor oil?

I used "semi-synth" in my Jeep for years, and it literally is a simple mix of synthetic and dino oil. It is not an issue of a weak link breaking the entire chain, more like a mixture that can be diluted anywhere from 0% to 100% strength.
Go for it.
