Message	are forgetting about Z Club discounts. As a minimum you should be able to get 10% off msrp on oem parts if you kept your local club membership in good standing. If you're lucky and have a good history with your dealership and their parts staff you can sometimes get a little more as well. (In my case it was ~20% off that I got on the tranny, but that purchase was a few years ago). Then on top of that if you consider the cost of shipping a tranny from a US source, you can see where that was clearly one scenario where there was absolutely no benefit for me to buy (a tranny) from a US vendor.
