| I had the same dilemma and have been real happy with my Sears/Craftsman 3/8" torque wrench for years. I recently bought the Pittsburgh 1/4" in-lb wrench from Harbor Freight. Harbor Freight isn't usually equated with the highest quality tools but in the case of this in-lb wrench you're in good hands. $20+ is not cheap and I'm sure many folks would argue an in-lb wrench is overkill but I think it's worth it. Especially if it means having fewer problems or leaks by holding closer to spec levels on items like the valve covers, etc. Also, as far as I can tell there's nothing made simpler and less expensive.
