for dissolving rust) to get off years of baked-on/nasty brake dust from alloy wheels. I use a round (dabber) type nylon paint brush to apply/rub, let sit for a few minutes and rinse off with clear water. Might have to do it a few times to get it all dissolved - don't ask me why it works but it does. Don't do this in direct sunlight (due to fast drying) and if using on polished wheels (ie., wheels w/out a clear coat) - just brush it on, rub a bit and rinse right off (do small areas at a time). On bare aluminum it can leave a white film like deposit -- it can be polished off w/out too much trouble but why make extra work for yourself? As always with any wheel, do a small test spot first to make sure there's no chemical reaction with the clear coat finish. I've never ever had an issue myself but always good to test...
