Message a phase plug. They have been used under some seats in sports cars. But I have seen a number of NSX owners build a false floor in the passenger side floor panel and once in the driver's side. It may be able to be placed behind the seat with some work or a custom enclosure in the tray behind the seat.

One of the first to do it is with phase linear. Check out the Aliante 10 Black or the 12 Black. http://www.mac-audio.de/index.php?id=2531&L=1

There are other companies that you know that make shallow mount subwoofers. To include JL Audio, Stillwater Designs (Kicker) and Pioneer. Just do a search for shallow mount subwoofers.

But that Aliante subs buy phase linear are some of the best rated subs for those type of applications.
