My 95 TT is getting to a point of where I don't want to drive it too much in fear of of something drastic happening to it. It's still a few mods away from getting it to where I want, so it's not completely done(are we ever done??), but in the meantime I decided to pick up another project. I had spoken to Greg at Specialty Z, and John at Exact Motorsports, and talked myself into building a S30 based Z car. So, the past couple of weeks I've been in talks with a guy up in the Seattle area re: his 1971 Datsun 240z. Without going into too much detail, I went up there this past weekend and bought the car. I was looking for a car with a clean interior, and body. The car rans good, and checked out to my expectations (Carbs need tuning, but thats normal on the S30). It's all stock except for a few minor items. It should be on its way down to Cali in the next couple of days. My initial plans were for a VG30DETT, as I have block, heads, Plenum, injectors, ECU, intercoolers, and 5 speed tranny sitting around. I am also however considering a RB25DET or RB26DETT. Either one will take some time to build. So in the mean time I have a hook on a 83 Turbo ZX motor (from motor to differential for a pretty low price. So I'm thinking I might be going this route for the interim as I'm not too fond of carburators. I'll get pics posted for those that are interested once I get deliver of the car. Thanks for reading...
