| If there is oil coming from the exhaust turbine then the turbo must be rebuilt with new seals, or more likely a new CHRA. you could bring a jump off pack to roll it over and do your compression test also. as for what I would do, I would probably pass on it and look for something that you know is in good running condition. turbo swaps are always expensive and have many hidden costs, so imo it's not worth taking the chance when you consider the possible cost of all the what-if's. used/new turbos, engine rebuild, injectors, etc... if you end up needing any of that stuff without having planned for it your project might come to a screeching halt. most of the time when these posts come up there is a general order to them.
Poster want's to be reassured about a purchase before handing over the cash. Forum replies that poster should be cautious Poster goes ahead and makes purchase anyway 2 month's pass Poster comes back crying about what a nightmare it was it happens all the time on this forum so I'm of the belief that if something is setting off alarms in your head before you buy then just pass on by, cause your just going to feel all butt-hurt and taken advantage of in the end.
