but those marks look to be from a flexing / bending motion. From the burnishing marks, it looks like the crack started where circled in red. The heat from the thrust loading that you can see may have contributed to the crack. Then the crack expanded to the area circled in green, making it some more revolutions, observed by the lighter burnishing, before fully fracturing in the yellow area.
I'm going with a custom set of JE pistons
