Message The coatings I use require no added clearances. The pistons I coat undergo an aluminum oxide media process then a thorough cleaning and then the coating applied. It is then baked on and becomes the substraight and doesn't wear off like other coatings. The nice thing about the coating I use on the piston skirts and engine bearings is that the more pressure/abuse you put on its surface the better job it does of lubricating. On every engine build I do I offer the coatings to them..while I can't make customers spend money I can only offer my input on them and show them how and why they are better to have applied. Being that the coatings are baked on after being applied they last A LOT longer than any other coating offered. Most other coatings are topical in nature and wear off in a few hundred miles.
