Message It's been about 2 years since I was at the drag strip last, so I was a little rusty and haven't done much upgrades since then.
I actually may have lost some hp swapping from an HKS to the B&B exhaust, and going back to the stock flywheel from the RPS unit.

My best 60ft of the day was a 1.613. Profile is up to date, 93oct, no methanol, 16psi.

Here's a quick video of the run. Unfortunately the camera tilted from the jolt of the launch.

For those of you who like reading mini-novels, continue on:
A big thanks goes out to Dean (DrDCanaceu). His parts, knowledge, and advice helped me every step of the way.
Couple weeks prior to the run, I picked up a set of brand new MT drag radials to replace my worn one's. Still with zero miles on the tires, it was time to test out the new ImportIntelligence 2step launch control I just installed. Building 15psi off the line at 5K rpm's on some back country roads was a blast to say the least. But I finally found the breaking point of the tires, and they couldn't hold on the street with that kind of launch.
Fast foward a few weeks, a few buddies offered to cruise to a local strip about an hour and a half away. With no intentions of racing, I joined for the cruise and to watch. I was 1 of 4 cars (C5 Z06, C5 Lingenfelter, 5.0 mustang). Needless to say, after a 1.5 hr drive, I had to run at the track.
It was a hotter than usual day in Illinois, especially having to wear jeans as per track rules. We arrived around 1pm and were forced to wait 2 hours for our first run once bracket racing was completed.
Already soaked with sweat, I pull up to the burnout box and proceed to do a burnout....stalled. The car wheelhopped like a mofo, struggled to run, then died. Embarrassed, I curse at my car and continue to the line. I square off against my friend in the C5 Z06. The light turns green, but I'm still sitting at the line bouncing off the limiter. That's where my 2.8 reaction time comes in and I forgot to arm the launch control, duh. The Z pulls out the hole like a bat outta hell and I roll to a 12.1 with my best 60ft. So maybe this trip was worth it as my previous best was a 12.6. After the run I was congratulated by my friends and I figured I could easily better that time.
This time, no burnout, and I up'ed the boost from 15 to 16psi. I faced off against an Evo this time around with 4 Hoosiers on all corners, and a nasty 2step. Seen in the video and the slip, I get him off the line and in the eighth, but he pulls as I get into 3rd. The timeslip reads 11.96, wow what an awesome feeling. After the race, he informed me he had a GT35R, but it looks like he may have let off towards the end.
After obtaining my long standing personal goal on stock turbos, I figured what the heck and gave it one last shot. A mustang broke it's rear off the line and coasted halfway down the track, causing a long delay due to his idiocy. Once the OK was given to continue racing, track officials guided me into the freshly cleaned up lane that has given me luck all day. Unfortunately for me, the luck ran out and the tires spun as bad as when on the street, but still managing to get a 1.8 60ft at that. I ended the day with a 12.4 and contently parked the Z to watch what was left of the other cars.
The Z made the long trek home on my trusty drag radials without a hitch as I watched my friends Z06 on a flatbed with a broken half-shaft.
Now armed with some Stillen SMIC's, we'll see what times will be in store for the future. Maybe I'll finally shell out the money for the SZ dp's as well :)

And 2 parting pics for those still with older-style injectors:

Happy Z-ing :)
