I've been designing this setup on and off over the last three years and finally I've got a prototype to fit test. My original plan was to use a Meziere motor/impeller assembly but their pricing was way too expensive, so I bought a CSR replacement unit and modified my design to fit it. Surprisingly the CSR turned out to be, in my opinion, a superior pump in that it's shaft seal and impeller retention is better engineered to allow easier disassembly so I could machine off two mounting flanges, strip and re-anodize. Since the adapter plates are prototypes, I'll be changing a few things before the production parts are made, but for the most part these are 95% representative of what the finished parts will look like. On with the pics... I call this the "block-plate", since it mounts to the engine block. Note the eclipsed coolant feed hole on the right - the pump motors are 4" in diameter which, if placed on center with the coolant hole in the block, will hit the timing belt idler. So, I offset the new pump motor away from the timing idler.

![](http://bde-performance.com/H2O_PUMP/DSC01892.JPG) Mid-plate loosely installed for reference, same countour as block-plate for thermostat housing clearance.
