Message So I use to be on these boards daily back in 99-02. I owned a 90NA and then a 91TT. I'm looking at coming back to a 91TT that I have found! Couple of questions though where I need a little help before I pull the trigger.

91TT, Manual, 49K miles, 2nd owner since 04. Never wrecked, smoked in. Paint looks excellent (one small ding). He bought it stock and installed JWT ECU, Stillen Catback, test pipes, performance clutch, turbo timer etc. Car is far away and looks good in pics/discussions with owner. $13,800.

1. He has stored the car since the fall of 07. Filled it with fuel, added fuel stabilizer, pulled the battery when stored, put it on jack stands to prevent flat spots and will change the oil before I drive it away. I don't have experience with stored vehicles so are there any other issues I need to address before I drive it 400 miles home? 60k has not been done but will be when I get it home.

2. He put aftermarket rims and tires on it. They look pretty good but I am a factory look guy. He has the original wheels and tires. A little weird here. There is pretty significant curb rash only on the EDGE of the lip on 3 of the rims but not one front rim and the inside of the front tires are showing chords they are worn so bad. I remember the tires wearing a little on the insides but will they get that bad or was the alignment out on this car?

3. He said the clutch was slipping when he bought so he installed a perfomance clutch (Needed at stage III anyway). Interior looks immaculate (Even driver side seat bolster) except scuff marks in trunk area.

Did the person before him not take care of the car? I would never rub my wheels or put stuff in the trunk to scuff it up. He didn't either but the first owner must have done that in 36k miles and 12-13 years.

Trying to evaluate how leary to be...how leary would you guys be of this stored vehicle for a little over a year?
