Pretty much the bar ties the two towers together and prevent them from caving in i.e. the bar is in compression. So I don't think one can say just because a bar is a one piece design means it is better. Say you took a Carbing front strut bar, and then cut each side where the bar welds to its bracket and put a nut&bolt instead of the weld.. will it perform differently? I don't think so. However I can agree that generally a lot of the 3 piece ebay bars have pretty dingy brackets that can flex as apposed the the nice beefy construction of carbing and powertrix bars. Another point I've been thinking about is when you install a 1 piece bar, I assume it should fit over the upper shock mount studs easily b/c the holes in the strut bar have some room for play...Under driving conditions wouldn't the stud&nut slide in the hole of the strut bar before compressing the bar itself? In a 3 piece design you would be able to adjust this.
