I just got my motor built and I am trying to get down to the bottom of this. The shop that built my bottom end told me first 250 miles change oil and keep under 3k rpms. From 250-1000 miles stay under 3k rpms then change oil. Then run only 6 psi and keep it under 4k rpms until 3k miles. Then break-in is complete. 3k miles seems kind of high. I swear it was only 1000 miles for break in. What would you all do or have done.
