Message The following is from today's Times in NJ. They have a decent budget if they can spend money for DNA analysis in a car theft case. But hey, if it was my car, I'd want the guy identified and caught, regardless how long it takes or what expense.

MANSFIELD, NJ -- A nearly two-year-old burglary and motor vehicle theft was solved with the help of DNA evidence, police announced Wednesday.

On Jan. 4, 2007, a 2004 Mercedes Benz CLK was stolen from the NADE auto auction on Route 68. It was found abandoned after being involved in a motor vehicle crash in Trenton 15 days later.

Police processed the vehicle for evidence, taking DNA samples and submitting them to a state police lab in Hamilton. After a search against the Combined DNA Index System, a match was found, according to police.

Police investigated further, and have charged 28-year-old Jamaal Addison of Trenton and 30-year-old Tony Allen of Florence with theft by unlawful taking of unmovable property, conspiracy, trespassing and criminal mischief.

Addison is in prison already on eluding and weapons charges, while Allen is wanted on an arrest warrant.
