Firstly, congrats on winning the Bid.. Second, have you checked the car out yourself? My experience. Back in 2003, I too won a 91 TT on eBay.
One owner, had great interior and exterior shots, no accidents, etc. Had 86k on it. I sent the 500.00 deposit. I'm in California, car was in Arizona.
The obstacle was getting time off work to go get the car..The seller was pushing me to send remaining funds and get the car shipped. He would pay for 1/2 shipping etc.
Well, I got the time off, flew out to go get the car, with cashiers check in hand..
Well, long story.. The pics lied. There was no way this car had 86k, more like 286k..
Body lines did not match up..However they did in the pics. This didn't look like teh car in the pics.
interior was all faded, etc..etc. .you get the picture.. Luckily, I used to live on TT.NET at the time, and someone here, had advised me to check the car out in person. Else I would have just had it shipped..
I figured, I'd tell you the same...
Oh yea, and go with your gut. Don't hand over the funds, until everything checks out for you... Again, congrats, and enjoy the drive..
