I do not know your tune, how you were measuring fuel pressure, or what your A/F looked like. 9-10 psi max on stock turbos is what the NA pump can typically keep up with, but that's not leaving any margin for safety. What you're advocating is very unsafe, and frankly there's very little reason NOT to install a TT pump. It's a very simple swap.
