| eventually kill that HU amplifier. May last a day, may last for months. They need to have 4 ohm speakers connected to them to work properly. Unless you get some special low ohm HU that I have never heard of. If you do not want to buy new speakers for it to run properly then you need to hook the bose speakers back up to their amps and then power up the amps so they will work properly. As far as using a resistor to raise impedance, yes it will work and yes it will lessen the sound quality. You just have to use resistors that are rated to handle the power and current. Not sure if you can find those at Radio Shack or not. This is not what I would recomend though. You need to get 4 ohm speakers and probably now a new deck. As far as having music right now, I told you how to test the deck. Hook up a known good 4 ohm speaker straight to the back of the deck. Hook it up to each of the output channels to see if they all work or not. If they don't, you will not be listening to any music without buying a new HU.
