| you run 100% of the oil flow through the oil cooler. The engine gets back 100% of the cooled oil back . On the Z32, only a small percentage of oil gets cooled by bleeding off the oil filter tree. Also, the cooled oil goes to the pan instead of the engine oil galley. You want to include a oil temp thermostat in full flow system because you don't want to pump cold thick oil through an oil cooler because you would over cool the oil and also cause a pressure drop. On my car I am incorporating a 19 row oil cooler full flow with a perma cool oil temp thermostat the opens at 180 degrees.
