However, at the end of the day, you have to look at the facts and decide whether you have a reasonable defense; not necessarily good, but reasonable. If you were in fact speeding trying to avoid a very real threat of accident in a short timeframe, then you could argue it w/o negative results, but it must be based on fact, not an excuse to a hypothetical occurrence or situation. Worst case you still get the fine. However, if you have priors then I would pick my battles and walk away from this one. In any event, no need for an attorney; it won't help you here. -Chris
