| A clay bar of your choice, then use Meguiar's #3 Professional Machine Glaze with the proper polishing tools. After you are satisfied with the results then protect it with the wax of your choice. I personally use Pinnacle Souveran Wax. Detailing a car is similar to professionals painting a vehicle. Its the prep work that really brings out a good result epically on black paint. Putting wax on a improperly prepped surface is a waste of your time. I was experimenting with my friends NSX on a number of different polishes, without much success. The Meguiar's #3 glaze works best with a Porter Cable polisher with a medium foam pad. If you need something more agressive just change the type of foam and stick with the same glaze. Just for reference it took both of us about 6 hours to glaze the whole car and put two coats of wax. We had to re-glaze a lot of areas 4 or 5 times to remove some stubborn scratches and swirl marks. When we were done about 95% of all the swirly marks were removed when looking at the paint from about 24". To get the last 5% would probably require another 3-4 hours. Another helpfull hint, if you have some dried glaze residue that does not come off easily I use a 50-50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Just lightly mist the area and wipe off with a microfiber towel. From here on out make sure nothing touches the vehicle accept microfiber products. A cotton/polyester mix towel can instantly ruin all of your hard work in one wipe on black paint. Even a 100% cotton towels are very risky.
