I would think a 225 would be fine on the 8.5 isn't a stock na wheel 8" and running a 225?...i guess my fear with the 245 in front was that given the fact that the wheel will already be sticking out a bit that the tire would need to be on the skinnier side to avoid contact with the outer fender well....and 265 on a 9.5 wheel is fairly common isnt it?
