Message 0% suggests there were 0 cars with the problem. 350 out of 39,000 is Nissan's claim. And knowing of three doesn't mean there are more than 350... this community interacts largely, so between all the Z owners that know each other, there are some that are bound to know people with cars who had the problem (the pic I posted was initially taken by Ash, so he's encountered them as well). But it's still extremely rare and I have owned 2 90's, neither of which had the problem (both over 130k miles). And all of my friend's Z's have had decent mileage on them with no problem either. I just think it's largely a non-issue. Sure, there's a tiny chance a given person might have a problem... but it's more likely that they won't.

But your description of the problem is dead on - the valves themselves weren't soft.

I love elitists who aren't really elite in any way... they amuse me greatly.
