the car runs pretty rich, like most with upgraded ecu (under boost, sits around 10.8 to 11.0 afr)- nothing new there. timing has been checked by both number one coil pack wire and ptu - it sits at 13degrees. 13psi and 13degrees of timing is where his car sits with out pinging. he is also not the only one, my buddy kris has one of kyles motors aswell and is have similar issue with running 14psi and 15 degrees of timing. i told sjz to post this up in hopes of getting some input on if he and kris were the only ones since the only common peice between the two is the long blocks. i have told both they need to hit the dyno and tune them, but at the same time, out of all the motors i have done and have come across, these two are having similar and somewhat consistant issues under low (light boost appications) load were most other do not. noone's trying to blame kyle for anything, just wondering if anyone else has similar issues and if it may be attributed to how the motor may have been assembled. i like kyle and referred both of these gentlemen to kyle knowing he's a great guy in the z community and is an awesome vendor. so stop reading too much into the post and stop flamming, sjz is just looking for some info - those who posted constructively, thank you for your input. its much appreciated! take care all and happy driving!

Best run: 1.60 60', 11.319 @ 120.65 mph - 118 octane fuel (on 100 octane tune), 22 degrees of timing, 21-22 psi boost, 11 psi tire pressure (street slicks). "..know your car better... RACE IT!.. AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.." "Drag racing is for fast cars... Autocross is for fast drivers... Drifting is for cheap tires..." I made up the last one.. |
