First off you never jack a car up and rely on the jack itself to hold a car up while your working on it. Thats just not safe, and also why they make stationary jackstands, as pictured. The piece I made was only to lift the car about a half and inch or so more so that i could depress the jackstand I already had in place and move it. So sorry, but no pictures of gaping flesh wounds... and no sob stories about how I messed up my front fender jacking the car up incorrectly. As I was not using that to jack the car up fully but only to raise it a small amount for no more than 10-15 seconds. This isnt my first rodeo, if there was another way i would have done it another way. But since there was not and there may be people in my situation I posted my creation out of confidence that someone at some point may need to resort to using it. P.S. Jacking directly on the seam pushes out the body panels, the purpose of the wood was to avoid the seam and spread the weight as a counter measure so it would not do any damage to the body or fender. Which it was successful.
