"It's a great website. It's a clean shop with great equipment...I see all the pictures of the Z Nationals there at Z1 and I am left wondering why my car can't be like theirs..." Don't feel bad, it's an easy trap to fall into. I'd be just as fooled as anyone had I not been warned by others brave (or desperate) enough to post their problems. Even with warning, you see all the glitz and it's easy to believe they must have done something right...right? There's actually some truth to that. Luckily for Z1, the parts business has been quite profitable recently. On that end, they do a ton of business. Unfortunately, running a tuner shop is much more difficult since you're only as good as your worst mechanic, or outsourced shop in this case. When you're so well fed on the parts side, it's not surprising to see what comes out the other end. I mean really, what incentive is there to fix the service side you admit has problems? To fire friends and/or family that aren't getting the job done? To shake things up when money is still pouring in and you're building shops and expanding? That's right, not much. It's not like we haven't seen it before, either. We watched Stillen milk the scene, step on customers and move on to the next whizz-bang late model sports car. I can only speculate but it feels like that again. Mass-produced knock-offs high-dollar complaints every other month don't sound like steps in the right direction. You being a member here since 2001 had me a little disappointed but not terribly surprised. Especially if you've been as busy as it sounds with Iraq (thank you, by the way). Still, I'm sorry to hear about your ordeal and hopefully this thread will get them into action. And by action, I mean more than just cut-and-paste lip-service from Russ. Good luck to you and keep us posted, good or bad.
