| Our premium 93 octane here does not have any ethanol in it (Tyler, TX)...but the others 87 (reg) and 89 (mix of 87 and 93) do. I put the Sta-bil in my boat (44 gallon tank) which is a 2 stroke V6 Mercury outboard with 3 carbs (2 per set of cylinders) and I have had NUMEROUS starting issues with it and every time I pull the carbs off (because of it not getting any fuel), there are MORE pieces of rubber stuck in the carb. I've replaced the fuel lines, etc. and it still continues. Did not have any issues whatsoever until after 2006 when the "clean air act of 2006" started. (It has stayed at my parents house since I moved to Denver since I don't own a truck anymore, so they use it on occasion) I use this kit here: [ http://www.fuel-testers.com/order.html ] and test the amount of Ethanol in my gas.... this is how I found out that 93 octane here DOES NOT HAVE ANY ETHANOL. Since I've been using the 93 octane (although 44 gallons at $4/gallon hurts) I haven't had one problem with it, hence WHY I know ETHANOL is my problem-causer.
