Message ::on a turbo? They are made for turbo applications. How hot does the intake get ? We use silicone couplers also on the pressure side which has the most heat.
:It's not the intake temp that is the problem (from my understanding) but proximity to exhaust manifold etc. The guys doing my engine used tube style inlet with silicone couplers back on an old motor in '05, but found that even when heat wrapped the couplers did not last... soloution was to weld directly onto the turbo. Note this is on a race only car so maybe heat will not be such a problem on road car.

If you rae interested there's a pic here [ http://www.nismo.com.au/ProjectZed/05engine5.jpg ] of the engine assembled with silicone couplers, and a pic here showing the welded kit which they use on current motor [ http://www.nismo.com.au/pricelists/General/300ZX%20parts/gt28turbokit.jpg ]
