Although the cabin noise level had increased, I was more concerned about exhaust fumes. As it turned out, the mufflers were too far recessed (as many of you had mentioned) and I did notice some exhaust fumes (which you also warned me about). So I set about extending the mufflers outward. In the process I also inserted this venturi that was suggested to me by doug8867 from this site; http://www.techtonicstuning.com/showpart.asp?partnum=VEN.250
That part was inserted into the extra 4" long pieces that I added just before the mufflers. I had no luck to sourcing some 2.5" polished SS stock so I had to canabalize my old set of test pipes. :(
So here's some pics of the process and some after shots. The below 3000rpm cabin noise level has dropped and more so, the +3000rpm cabin noise level has dropped significantly better. It's the quietest it's ever been which makes for great long distance driving in the future. I have also noticed that the acceleration is much more linear and feels a bit better as well. A big shout-out to doug8867 for suggesting the venturi's. After the cut;
