Subject	Imploded water pump

Message	We recently bought a slicktop for our project car. The chassis has over 170k miles, but the engine only has 8k. The engine was obviously installed by a ghetto shop, and used some cheap parts. Anyways this is what we found the other day. I also have a question. We installed a new water pump, and put everything back together. But our t-stat seems to be sticking even though it opened before boiling when we heated it up on the stove. Currently we are running without a t-stat, and so my question is, is this harmful? I did search and found that it wasn't as effecient, but nothing on whether it was bad for the coolant system or not.
