If the one you're looking at uses an EL strip (very likely) it'll probably be white during the day as well. 
Fair warning, the blue stands out a bit much on Cherry Red. At first I was okay with it but I've been on a kick of "de-glowing" my Z by removing the pillar gauges and such. This is an old pic but you can see how much it contrasts. If the cops are rough by you, it might be too much attention.
