To me, if a kid has cash to buy a car, I don't know that I would deny him/her buying a Z. As long as all the maintenance issues and potential headaches with Z ownership were disclosed, it seems permissible to me. Teaching a teenager about cars and how to respect them is pretty important imo. Handing a kid a nice sports car would be a huge mistake; but if s/he pays for it and knows how to drive it and respect it, a lot of danger can be avoided. I got my first Z when I was 16, and I had a lot of respect for it as a sports car and didn't horse around with it. I bought my first TT when I was 18 and respected that car even more. I haven't had any encounters with danger that were my fault since I bought my first Z 8 years ago. *shrug*
