| It is a decent car, I suppose. The regular version has FWD so that is not much fun, so you would probably be interested in the quattro version. You mentioned the 2002 - 2004 model. It is actually a 2001 - 2005 model A4. The S4 version is powered by a 4.2 liter V8 engine that produces nearly 350 hp. But since mileage is a concern the S4 is probably not an option. 2005 Audi S4
How about a turbo diesel? The 2.5 V6 TDI model has about 180 hp I think and 4WD. These newer turbo diesel engines respond very well to chip tuning and with minimum effort you can add 40 hp. And that is just the beginning. A decent Audi is not cheap, however. I am surprised that you have not mentiond the S14. It has 4 cylinders, it is a Nissan, and it is a RWD car. How about that? Nissan 240SX (S14)
The S14 is quite easy to mod, since there are lots of parts for it. And much cheaper than the Z32. Think about it; no more twin this, twin that! ;-) I sure would not mind having one of those in my garage.
