Message I measured with two rulers via the method from the FAQ document. I talked about it in the other thread. And once again others with the same offset/wheel size/tire sizesaid they had plenty of clearance, even with a .08 drop springs.

I don't know for sure, but really right now I'm just trying to decide if I dislike the look of these front tires enough to send em back and incur at least 100$ of extra expense.

The 245/40's that I would replace them with in theory are about 15mm larger in diameter, which is the width of my thumb. In reality however they are only half that amount bigger on each side, but as a test I turned the wheels left to right at short increments and checked to see if I had less than a thumbs width (twice what I would need) clearance to any point, and it does have at least that much all around, which in theory should be more than enough to run the 40's. However in practice the 245/40's are only about 3mm smaller than the 255/40's I took off, and I have holes all over my fender liners along with ridiculous tread wear to prove that they rubbed.

Maybe the fault is that I'm measuring clearance in my driveway with no difference in suspension travel, or maybe my logic is fine and the 40's would fit just fine, but its hard to say. at least with these tires I KNOW they wont rub, and they are already paid for, but they do look a little off on the car. the alternative is paying 100$ more for something that will look a little better, but also might have clearance issues..... I just cant decide.
