| the Z vs WRX battle! Well they say what goes around comes around, and here I find myself again here doing endless searches. I see a quite a few new members posting and also the old reliable hardened Z heads! I have been driving a 2002 WRX for the last two years while the Z was sitting there falling prey to the second law of thermodynamics (un-started for 1 year!). Every day going to work I would say to myself “what a shame”. While the Subaru is a fine car, it is an understeery SOB that has a bin-liner for an interior and has very little character (also the TB is way way way too much trouble to change). It is quick for a daily driver but it’s not fast. The time has come to get behind the wheal of a real car again. The difference between the cars can be summed as: If you crash a Z, guys will walk up and say “hey dude, you were doing real well till… and pat you on the back”, if you crash a WRX guys will walk up and laugh! My slicktop is getting the TT motor it always deserved. Progress so far has been a good and the block is getting bored at the moment and shiny metal parts have been arriving every other day. Everything (yes everything) is getting done, from Tein SS Coilovers to 550 cc injectors and a set of Z1 GT525 turbos. So far the $ spend is not cool and I still have to get wheels & rubber…LOL. If my other half knew the “spend” she would kill me… really. I don’t want an NA>>TT conversion, I want a badass Z. I can’t wait to update my profile. I am going to take some progress shots and will post them. Good to be back.
