Message First off, you should of bought some components for your front speakers. Anyway, some answers to your questions to the best of my knowledge...

Can the head unit power the speakers adequately?
- "adequately"...all depending on your tastes and what you are trying to achieve. Your speakers can handle 100watts RMS but your head unit only outputs 18watts RMS (per channel x4).

If not, Do I need 1 amp for the speakers and 1 amp for the subwoofer? Do I need a 2 channel amp, 4 channel amp? What watt amp/amps do I need?
- Lots of options all depending on your budget. Ideally, I would suggest a separate amp for your speakers and your sub. If you do not plan to replace your rear speakers, I would get a 2 channel amp for your front speakers and a monoblock amp for your sub or a 2-channel amp that you can bridge. As far as wattage, make sure the RMS of the amp is greater than or equal to that of your speakers/sub.

If you have a 500 watt 2 channel amp, does that mean that 250 watts go the to subwoofer, and the other 250 go to the speakers?
- This just means that there is a total of 500 watts between the two channels. You could wire is up so that it is set up as your describe above but that is not the correct way and I wouldn't recommend it. Always read the specs for the amp because the wattage may not be uniformly distributed across all channels. This is mostly the case for 5-channel amps which can be another possibility you can look into if you want to save money.

What is all this "bridging" I keep reading about?
- Bridging is basically combing multiple channels into one. For example, your 500watts by 2 channels...instead of outputting 250 wattes per channel...your would "bridge" the two channels together to simulate one channel outputting 500 watts. Again read specs for amps as numbers differ when your bridge and what not.

Should I purchase a wiring kit that has the power wire, connectors, speaker wire, etc that I'm going to need?
- Yes, b/c this should include all if not most of the things that you need to wire up your speakers and amps. Once again, read specs to make sure that the length of wires included is long enough for your intended installation as well as the gauges of the particular wires included.

Hope this helps a bit.
just e-mail me if you got any other questions.
